The Chance
We are seeking a driven and relationship‐focused Account Manager to join our Sydney Sales team. Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will manage a portfolio of key builders across Sydney while supporting the conversion and growth of smaller builders within the region. You will play a pivotal role in advancing James Hardie's High Value Product portfolio by influencing builders operating in the single‐family and new construction and multi‐family residential segments. Working closely with Territory Managers and key stakeholders, you will execute strategic sales and marketing initiatives that strengthen our market position, drive product adoption, and deliver sustainable business growth.
What you'll do
Develop and execute Integrated Business Plans to drive growth, repeat usage and advocacy of the HardieTM Architectural Range and new product innovations.
Partner with Territory Managers to identify new growth opportunities within target builder segments.
Influence housing design decisions and promote the adoption of fiber cement solutions in place of traditional materials.
Train builders on the design, estimation and installation of James Hardie products to deliver better cost, quality and labour outcomes.
Drive growth plans focused on increasing High Value Product sales and market share.
Showcase successful project conversions and create compelling proof points for builders and consumers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local builder associations and industry stakeholders.
Deliver training and product education to customer sales teams.
Support industry events, builder engagement activities and product advocacy initiatives.
Proactively communicate and demonstrate the value James Hardie solutions deliver to customers and internal stakeholders.
What you'll bring
Minimum 3 years' sales experience with a proven track record in business development.
Experience working with residential builders or within the building products industry.
Exposure to single‐family or multi‐family construction segments will be highly regarded.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sales, Marketing or a related discipline are desirable.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong networking and stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‐on execution.
Experience working collaboratively across teams and functions.
Strong problem‐solving and influencing skills.
Ability to develop trusted relationships with builders and key decision‐makers.
Salesforce or CRM experience is advantageous.
