Operating Partner, Private Equity, Sydney
A high-performing Sydney-based private equity firm is seeking an Operating Partner to work alongside its investment team and portfolio company leadership to drive value creation across the portfolio.
The firm invests in lower mid-market businesses in the industrials space, so this role is squarely focused on hands‐on value creation in that segment.
It suits someone who thinks like a strategist but rolls up their sleeves like an operator.
You'll partner with management teams to sharpen strategy, lift operational performance, and unlock growth, from the diligence phase through to exit.
What you'll do
Work directly with portfolio company executives to identify and execute value-creation initiatives
Support the deal team on commercial and operational diligence
Help set and track performance improvement plans, KPIs, and 100-day plans post-acquisition




Act as a trusted sounding board and challenger to management across the portfolio
What we're looking for
A minimum of 10 years' experience, with a solid foundation in top-tier management consulting
Ideally, some operating or in-industry experience, though we're equally open to exceptional candidates coming straight from consulting
Experience in or exposure to industrials is highly valued given the portfolio focus
The credibility and EQ to influence senior leaders without direct authority
A genuine bias for execution, comfortable moving from the whiteboard to the front line
