An exciting prospect exists for an experienced engineering leader to drive sustainment outcomes across a complex Defence capability program.
Working within a highly technical environment, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering, technical and logistics teams responsible for maintaining the operational availability and performance of advanced combat systems.
This is a senior leadership position suited to someone who combines strong systems engineering expertise with program delivery, stakeholder management, and people leadership experience.
About the Role
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading engineering sustainment activities across mission-critical Defence systems.
You will work closely with customers, program teams, logistics specialists, and technical stakeholders to ensure ongoing capability availability, engineering compliance, and continuous improvement outcomes.
Leading multidisciplinary engineering and sustainment teams
Managing engineering support activities for complex combat and mission systems
Delivering engineering change initiatives and in-service support programs
Overseeing planned and corrective maintenance activities
Managing technical investigations, risk, obsolescence and supportability issues
Driving systems engineering governance, processes and technical compliance
Managing budgets, forecasting and program performance
Engaging with Defence and industry stakeholders to achieve successful sustainment outcomes
Supporting long-term capability growth, reliability and availability objectives
About You
You are a proven engineering leader with experience delivering outcomes in complex Defence, maritime, aerospace, or mission-critical environments.
You will bring:
Extensive experience in systems engineering and engineering management
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong background in sustainment, asset management, integrated logistics support or in-service support environments
Demonstrated project or program management experience
Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across industry and government
Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle management
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline
Highly regarded experience includes
Combat systems or military systems engineering
Combat management systems, weapons, sensors, communications, navigation or electronic warfare systems
Systems integration environments
Defence maritime programs
Technical regulatory and compliance frameworks
