About The Opportunity The Learning Designer is a specialist role that leads and advises on curriculum design by integrating contemporary pedagogical approaches, evidence-informed practices, and effective learning technologies. Working collaboratively with academic staff and curriculum teams, the role guides the development of high-quality, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences that align with institutional priorities, regulatory requirements, and sector best practice. The incumbent supports the design and delivery of units and courses, champions innovative pedagogies and technologies to enhance accessibility, engagement, and learning outcomes across diverse portfolios in the university and contributes to the University's mission of delivering transformative education for and from Tasmania through expertise in learning design and a strong collaborative focus.




What You'll Do Provide expert guidance and support for curriculum design and/or redesign initiatives in collaboration with academic teams, ensuring the use of contemporary learning design principles, pedagogical approaches, and inclusive practices.Advise on outcomes-aligned curriculum and learning experiences that meet institutional priorities and promote accessibility and engagement through appropriate technologies and Universal Design for Learning principles and practices.Lead the application of advanced learning design methodologies and emerging technological innovations to enhance curriculum quality and student engagement.Provide expert advice and leadership in the design and evaluation of assessment strategies, ensuring alignment with curriculum outcomes and informed by best practice in contemporary pedagogy and institutional standards.Contribute to and influence curriculum documentation, quality assurance, procedure development, and continuous improvement processes, embedding evidence-based learning design practices and compliance with institutional frameworks.




What We're Looking For Demonstrated experience in curriculum and learning design in a higher education context.Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum design activities and mentor staff in pedagogical best practice.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and contribute to educational and digital learning capacity to contribute to curriculum improvement through evidence-based in evaluating and improving curriculum at course level. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
