We are seeking a compassionate and experienced
Mental Health Nurse
to join our busy and patient-focused medical practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, supporting patients with their mental health and wellbeing needs in a primary care setting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct mental health assessments and ongoing patient reviews.
Provide support, education, and advocacy for patients and their families.
Assist with the development and implementation of Mental Health Treatment Plans.
Coordinate care with General Practitioners, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals.
Support patients with chronic mental health conditions through care planning and follow-up.
Assist in the planning, promotion, and facilitation of mental health workshops, group programs, and educational sessions for patients and the community.
Provide mental health education and resources to patients, carers, and staff.
Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records.
Participate in quality improvement activities and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Essential Criteria
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).




Qualifications and/or experience in mental health nursing.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to facilitate group discussions and educational sessions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Understanding of confidentiality, privacy, and professional boundaries.
Desirable Criteria
Credentialed Mental Health Nurse status or eligibility.
Experience working in general practice, community mental health, or primary care settings.
Experience delivering mental health education, workshops, or group programs.
Knowledge of Medicare-funded mental health services and care coordination programs.
