The Opportunity
We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Associate Professor to join our Occupational Therapy team within the School of Health Sciences. They will have responsibilities across undergraduate teaching and research leadership. You will bring expertise and academic leadership in one or more of the relevant areas of occupational therapy practice listed below:
Secure research funding and lead impactful research.
Deliver engaging, evidence-based, high-quality teaching.
Lead curriculum development in occupational therapy.
Attract, supervise, and mentor higher degree research students toward timely completion.
Build strong internal and external partnerships to serve the academic community and public.
What Success Looks Like
Maintain a national and international reputation for academic excellence in Occupational Therapy.
Deliver high-quality blended units, learning experiences and assessments at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Lead and mentor colleagues, shaping best practice in teaching, curriculum design and professional development.
Build interdisciplinary and industry partnerships that support research,



learning and community outcomes.
Secure competitive research funding and supervise high-quality postgraduate research projects.
A PhD in a field relevant to Occupational Therapy, along with recognised Occupational Therapy qualifications and AHPRA registration.
Demonstrated research leadership and track record with demonstrated impact in practice, education, and/or policy.
Proven capacity to supervise higher degree research students to timely completion and mentor early career academics.
Evidence of delivering high-quality, innovative learning experiences, including through online, simulation and contemporary teaching approaches.
Expertise in curriculum development, with the ability to contribute across key areas such as disability, mental health, and rehabilitation or aged care.
Strong communication, collaboration, and partnership-building skills with the ability to work effectively in teams.
A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement is required for this role.
