About the opportunity:
We have an opportunity for an individual experienced in Production planning and scheduling to join our team in the key role of Production Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of Inventory Management and Production Scheduling to ensure manufacturing delivery targets are achieved. You will apply a strong focus to quality control of outgoing products and OH&S; procedures within the business.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Maintain Production Schedule including identification of bottlenecks, capacity issues and actions required to address any issues.
Conduct weekly toolbox meetings to continuously reinforce a culture of safety & improvement.
Coordinate day-to-day factory activities with Production Leading Hand, providing necessary job sheets to complete expected outcomes.
Effectively lead and manage the Production team, recruiting and performance managing team members as required and approving timesheets.
Oversee inbound and outbound quality control measures to ensure products are to the expected standard.
Manage Inventory of all Warehouses including performing quarterly stock takes including preparation and variance investigation.
The procurement of all raw materials, workshop consumables and sub-contract services such as outsourced fabrication
Rectify quality faults and implement process changes as required to ensure that they do not recur and reducing warranty costs.
Where necessary provide hands on support assembling product, completing customer orders, completing quality checks.
About you:
Previous experience working within a manufacturing setting.
Detailed knowledge assembly and manufacturing techniques (minimum 3 – 5 years' experience or relevant employment history).
Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with particular talent toward capacity planning and setting of priorities.
Demonstrated experience in the use of power tools, manufacturing and assembly processes.
Working knowledge of production principles, inventory control and receipting procedures as well as sound administration, resource planning and cost control skills.
Ability to prioritise, organise and complete work within established deadlines, and to maintain a consistent level of professionalism.
Well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to liaise with people at all levels in an informative, accurate and positive manner.
Specific expertise in quality control, health and safety and process improvement is desirable.
Possess sound leadership skills, needed to negotiate industrial relations and to develop employee motivation and customer focus.
Working Knowledge of Queensland Health and Safety Legislation.
