What You'll Be Doing
To provide effective medical services in the field of General Medicine to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice.
This post will enable the successful candidate to gain broad experience in inpatient and outpatient General Medicine with particular skills and experience developed in Endocrinology and Obesity Medicine, Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Neurology and Rheumatology.
This post has accreditation of 12 months of core training in General Medicine and 12 months elective in Endocrinology.
The trainee will be expected to participate in quality improvement and peer review processes of the Department of Medicine.
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent,
currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
Eligible for Advanced Training in General and Acute Care Medicine, RACP by successful completion of the written examination and appropriate progress towards completion of the clinical examination.
Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem‐solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Demonstrated competency in clinical skills including effective assessment, care planning, care provision, case management and management of unstable patients.
Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical setting using excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency) and judgement and expertise.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with patients, their families, and medical and other health professional staff.
Demonstrated commitment to the General Medicine Advanced Training program.
Applicants with a clear stated interest in General Medicine or Dual Training or who are already in an Advanced Trainee position in General Medicine should state this.
