are seeking an exceptional
Enterprise Architect
to shape and drive our strategic IT vision across the University. We are building one of the most exciting digital transformations across Australia today. Designing a roadmap of ground‐breaking innovations that will transform our digital experiences for our students and staff.
As a key member of our Digital & Technology Solutions team, you will co‐create and lead the development of enterprise architecture that enables the execution of the CIO and University strategic priorities, in a way that allows rapid innovation, that is cutting edge, scalable and allows shifts in direction. This is a critical, high‐impact role offering the opportunity to influence IT delivery.
Your responsibilities include
Architectural Leadership:
co‐create and lead enterprise architecture. Provide technical guidance and leadership to the wider teams. Provide strategic guidance on key technology decisions.
Strategic Alignment:
Ensure architecture aligns with the CIO's vision, business strategies, and Curtin's IT goals. Decomposing the digital strategy into customer and value‐centric strategies that can be delivered by Digital & Technology Solutions.
Governance & Assurance:
Provide the guidelines and guardrails to guide design and implementation decisions. Work closely with solution architects, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure architectural quality and integration.
Innovation & Currency:
Stay ahead of emerging technologies and architecture techniques to keep Curtin innovative and minimise legacy systems.
Team & Culture Engagement:
Actively contribute to a positive team culture and model professional values.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal leaders, business units, and external partners to drive shared outcomes.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification and significant senior‐level ICT experience, or an equivalent blend of education and expertise.
Enterprise Architecture Expertise:




Robust knowledge and practical experience in architecture standards, methodologies, and domain‐specific solutions.
Proven Track Record:
Demonstrated success applying enterprise architecture in large, complex environments.
Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Strategic Thinking:
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills to assess and respond to complex technology challenges.
Continuous Improvement:
Committed to maintaining high standards, identifying opportunities, and leading meaningful change initiatives.
Desirable
Experience in and/or a broad understanding of challenges relating to working within a higher education environment. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
TOGAF certification.
Role Requirements
As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
