From running schools, childrens centres, development programs and healthcare clinics in Afghanistan to providing critical settlement support for vulnerable children and families in Australia, Mahboba's Promise is dedicated to long term sustainable change.

Right now, we are at a pivotal growth point, and require an experienced operations manager to help us reach more of those in need.
About the Role
This is a energetic, high-impact position for an operational generalist who loves the charity sector, thrives on variety, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
Reporting to the Management Committee, you will be the central engine room of Mahboba's Promise.
You will hit the ground running to streamline our daily operations, break down departmental silos, and ensure our staff and volunteers have the structural backbone they need to help our fundraising goals and our programs thrive.
If you love wearing multiple hats, moving from CRM implementation to volunteer coordination, to cross-border logistics all in one afternoon you'll fit right in.
Your Day-to-Day
Act as the central link between Fundraising, Marketing, Finance, and our Afghanistan programs office.
You'll champion cross-team communication and implement tools to keep everyone aligned.
Drive practical tech and process upgrades, including overseeing a new CRM implementation and embedding nimble project management systems.
Lead, mentor,



and coordinate our dedicated admin team and passionate volunteer network, ensuring everyone feels connected to the mission.
Keep us safe and compliant by maintaining records and managing our alignment with ACNC and ACFID standards.
Act as the primary operational bridge between our Sydney office and our Afghanistan programs team, ensuring seamless information flow and reporting.
What You'll Bring
We need someone who understands how grassroots charities tick.
We're looking for respect for the mission and adaptability.
You know the unique landscape of the Australian non-profit sector, including ACNC obligations (ACFID knowledge is a bonus).
Proven experience managing day-to-day operations, workflows, and internal systems in a fast-paced environment.
You're comfortable leading practical projects like CRM rollouts, website updates, or digital tool adoption.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams, time zones, and cultural contexts.
A natural ability to motivate staff and volunteers alike, creating an inclusive, organised, and energetic culture.

Renumeration
The salary is $90,000with access to NFP Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and salary packaging options.
