About Witton Barracks
Witton Barracks is a unique heritage site in Indooroopilly that brings together social enterprises, tenants, community groups, events, markets, programs and activations.
Operating for only two years, it is a growing space next door to Indooroopilly train station with a mix of venue hire, regular tenants, community events and new opportunities.
We are seeking a proactive, tech-savvy, flexible and highly organised Community Coordinator to support the day-to-day operation of Witton Barracks who can help make the site feel organised, welcoming, active and easy to use.
The role
As Community Coordinator, you will support the Spaces Manager with the day-to-day running of Witton Barracks and broader White Box spaces work.
You will help manage enquiries, coordinate event and venue bookings, show people through the site, support tenants, update social media and website content, assist with events, and help with general administration and site operations.
This is not a desk-only role. Some days may involve emails, bookings and admin. Other days may involve meeting hirers, setting up rooms, checking the site, helping with an event, tidying a space, updating a website listing or solving whatever practical issue has come up that day.
Hours will be shaped around site needs, bookings, events and operational requirements, which is perfect for someone who is available to work on the occasional evening and weekend, yet still has flexibility for life's other priorities. Available hours could be anywhere between ***** per week depending on what you'll be helping to create in the community, and we love to be local - living within a short commuting distance to the site is an advantage.
Key responsibilities
will include:
Responding to venue hire, event and community enquiries.
Coordinating bookings from enquiry through to event delivery and follow-up.
Showing prospective hirers, tenants and community groups through the site.
Supporting tenants, hirers, visitors and community users with day-to-day site needs.
Helping coordinate events, markets, programs and community activities.
Updating the Witton Barracks "What's On" website information.
Assisting with monthly newsletter.
Creating and updating simple social media content for events and site activity.
Keeping booking information, calendars, documents and records organised.
Supporting access, keys, fobs, site instructions, AV/tech support and visitor information.
Identifying and following up maintenance, cleaning or operational issues.
Assisting with basic set-up, pack-down, tidying, room resets and light cleaning where required.
Providing general admin support for Witton Barracks, White Box Enterprises and occasional CEO office tasks.
Supporting other White Box spaces-related tasks as directed by the Spaces Manager.

The best person for the role will identify with the following:
This is for you if you are practical, confident with technology, a fast learner and able to work independently. The right person does not need extensive experience, but they do need the right mix of skills, initiative, attitude and willingness to learn. You'll also be comfortable when not every process is written down for you - problem-solving is a must.
You will be:
Tech savvy and comfortable using online systems, calendars, websites, social media, spreadsheets and email.
Highly organised and able to juggle different tasks and enquiries.
A fast learner who can pick up new systems and processes quickly.
Independent and able to keep things moving without needing constant direction.
Flexible and willing to help outside standard business hours when required.
Friendly, professional and confident communicating with different people.
Practical and willing to jump in with hands-on site tasks.
Comfortable assisting with tidying, room resets and light cleaning when needed.
Calm when priorities shift or unexpected things pop up.
Interested in events, community spaces, social enterprise or site activation.
Connected to the broader purpose of White Box Enterprises and motivated by work that supports social enterprise, local activation and community wealth building.
