The R&D; Lead at TechnologyOne is responsible for leading and supporting the Product team to innovate, design, build, and enhance our enterprise software. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality product outcomes, ensuring work is aligned with product strategy, customer needs, and enterprise architecture.
As an R&D; Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our products, working closely with Product Managers, Architects, Developers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that create real value for our customers. You'll lead the team to deliver high-quality software, foster a strong engineering culture, and drive continuous improvement while balancing technical excellence with business outcomes.
What you'll be doing:
Working closely with the R&D; Director, you will lead, mentor, support, and develop collaborative, achievement-focused team(s) composed of Architects, Business Analysts, Developers, and Testers, to deliver on the product roadmap and meet quality metrics.
Lead and deliver greenfield (new development) functionality for an exciting new initiative inside the Financials suite of products that integrates with other products inside the TechnologyOne portfolio.
Ensure efficient resource allocation in line with delivery priorities and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
Champion AI assisted development, from user story creation to quality assurance (Claude is our tool of choice)
Coach the team on agile methodologies and enterprise guidelines, including architecture, security, programming, automated testing, and quality management.
Architect highly available and performant APIs that handle thousands or millions of daily transactions
Motivate team members to take ownership of their professional growth and career progression.
Inspire a culture of innovation and problem-solving to achieve ambitious goals.




Provide technical input, review, and quality assurance for software and architecture as needed.
Leverage industry knowledge to guide software concepts, configurations, and technical decision-making.
Use customer feedback, market research, and technology trends to contribute innovative ideas to the Product Roadmap.
Collaborate with the Product Success team to align software development with business priorities.
Identify and drive continuous improvement in product design, software implementation, and team processes.
Ensure compliance with enterprise policies, work health and safety requirements, and suggest proactive improvements.
Strong technical knowledge and proven software development experience, particularly with C# and SQL Server, delivering large-scale enterprise applications.
Past experience with financial systems, payment systems and SaaS applications is highly desirable
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges, make informed decisions, and solve complex technical and operational problems.
Strong understanding of defensive coding patterns, cloud architecture, cloud and network security, architectural patterns, etc...
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, share information effectively, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to deliver strategic initiatives while identifying, managing, and escalating risks where required.
Solid understanding of software security,



privacy, and compliance principles, with experience applying them in enterprise environments.
Experience with enterprise software, ERP platforms, or TechnologyOne products is highly regarded, along with an understanding of customer needs, business processes, and opportunities for continuous improvement..
