Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement and monitor evidence‐based interventions for students, informed by assessments and care‐planning recommendations.
Ensure adherence to clinical procedures and protocols related to counselling and psychological services.
Partner with university departments and stakeholders (e.g., student accommodation providers) to embed wellbeing support within learning activities and curriculum.
Identify, develop and coordinate improvements to protocols for clinical service delivery within a stepped‐care framework.
Provide expert guidance on mental health issues, diagnosis, therapeutic interventions and gender‐based violence.
Identify the need for, and refer clients to, other internal or external allied health or community services, coordinating referrals where appropriate.
Guide stakeholders in implementing case management plans and interventions, managing complex cases involving perceived risk to self or others.
Identify, evaluate, and report on potential clinical risks.
Participate in peer supervision and contribute to clinical case discussions to strengthen psychological practice across the team.
Advise and support other Student Wellbeing staff on escalated or complex cases.
Qualifications & Experience
Current and full registration with AHPRA to practice as a psychologist.




Minimum 5years post‐qualification clinical experience.
Expertise in conducting psychosocial assessments and providing short‐term counselling using evidence‐based, trauma‐informed interventions.
Ability to manage complex case presentations, assess risk and conduct safety planning (including risks of harm to self, others, domestic/relationship abuse, and gender‐based violence).
Knowledge of issues impacting tertiary education students' wellbeing and engagement with studies.
Proven experience developing and implementing support strategies and programmes for students.
Demonstrated ability to analyse complex issues, formulate solutions, communicate findings to stakeholders, and exercise sound judgement.
Experience providing excellence in clinical care and customer service to clients and stakeholders.
Robust communication skills, with a talent for influencing, negotiating and motivating people across senior managers, executive staff, academics and students.
Sound understanding of relevant clinical, ethical, privacy, EEO, and WHS obligations within a healthcare or education setting.
