The Role
The Deputy Principal is a pivotal member of our executive leadership team, working in close partnership with the Principal to provide strategic, educational and operational leadership across Mount Pleasant Primary School.




This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly capable educational leader to join the new leadership team and play a significant role in the next phase of the school's improvement journey. The successful applicant should display a proven capacity to lead sustainable school improvement by building trust, fostering collaboration and creating genuine staff commitment to a shared vision. They should be an influential leader who inspires confidence, develops others and successfully leads change through robust relationships and evidence-informed practice.
Ideally, the successful applicant will possess exceptional organisational skills and the ability to balance strategic priorities with the day-to-day operational demands of a large school. They should be proactive, solutions-focused and capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a cohesive team. A strong work ethic, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities are highly desirable.
The Deputy Principal provides leadership across all areas including curriculum, student services and school operations. They support the Student Services portfolio, overseeing the implementation of effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention processes while working alongside staff to strengthen inclusive practices that improve outcomes for all students.
An ability to lead evidence-informed curriculum improvement is advantageous. The successful applicant should possess strong knowledge of high-impact teaching practices aligned with the Department of Education's Quality Teaching Strategy and have the capacity to provide instructional leadership through coaching, classroom observation, feedback and the delivery of professional learning.
Expertise in literacy and numeracy improvement is highly desirable, while experience in Digital Technologies including BYOD and Elastik along with instructional coaching will be highly regarded. The successful applicant should also exhibit the ability to lead projects and organisational change, implementing whole-school systems that improve efficiency, consistency and student outcomes. Experience leading the implementation of the Compass platform will be an advantage.
As a key member of the executive team, the Deputy Principal will contribute to strategic planning, policy development, timetabling, school events, camps,



workforce management and organisational systems. They will use data strategically to monitor progress, evaluate impact and drive continuous improvement through measurable outcomes.
