About the Role
This is a hands‐on, site‐driven position — not a desk job. As our Project HSE Advisor, you will be the safety presence on active work fronts at the Perth Desalination Plant, working closely with project teams, supervisors and contractors throughout the construction and maintenance lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily site inspections, safety walks and hazard observations.
Coach frontline workers and supervisors to foster a genuine safety culture.
Develop and review JHAs, SWMS and work permits.
Manage contractor HSE compliance and mobilisation requirements.
Control high‐risk activities including excavation, working at heights, confined space, lifting operations and mobile plant interactions.
Run pre‐starts and toolbox talks with content that actually lands.
Lead incident investigations using ICAM, Taproot or equivalent methodologies.
Conduct fitness‐for‐work and welfare monitoring — keeping people sharp and supported.
About You
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
3+ years of site‐based HSE experience in construction.
Solid knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction codes of practice.
Current First Aid / CPR and incident investigation training (ICAM, TapRooT or equivalent).
Confidence engaging and coaching workers, supervisors and contractors.
Experience in civil, utilities, water or infrastructure projects highly regarded.
