THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Specialist to join our leadership team based in Welshpool. This standalone role will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) systems across the business.
Partnering closely with operational leaders, you will drive a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance with Western Australian and Australian legislative requirements, maintain integrated management systems, and support operational excellence through effective risk management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Compliance
Act as a key member of the Management Team, integrating SHEQ considerations into operational decision-making
Provide expert advice and guidance on SHEQ matters to leaders and operational teams
Ensure compliance with Western Australian and Australian WHS legislation, regulations, and company standards
Liaise with regulators, external bodies, customers, and stakeholders on SHEQ matters
Develop, implement,



maintain and continuously improve integrated SHEQ management systems and procedures
Maintain ISO certifications including ISO ****, ISO *****, ISO ***** and ISO *****
Monitor SHEQ performance, KPIs and sustainability objectives, driving improvement initiatives where required
Oversee SHEQ reporting, documentation, and data management systems
Support the integration of SHEQ principles into new projects, operational processes, and business improvements
Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections and Safety GEMBA walks
Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions
Ensure hazards, near misses and non-conformances are effectively identified, managed and resolved
Support psychosocial risk management initiatives and employee wellbeing programs
Drive continuous improvement activities to strengthen safety, quality and environmental performance
Training & Stakeholder Engagement
Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through visible leadership and engagement
Develop and facilitate SHEQ training, awareness initiatives and safe work practices
Collaborate with leaders and employees to embed SHEQ standards across all operations
Foster accountability, ownership and continuous improvement throughout the business
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental Science or a related discipline Advanced Diploma in Work Health & Safety or equivalent SHEQ qualification
Relevant SHEQ certifications including ISO ****, ISO *****, ISO ***** or equivalent
Minimum 5 years' experience in a SHEQ role within an operational environment




Solid knowledge of Western Australian and Australian WHS legislation and compliance requirements Proven experience developing, implementing and maintaining integrated SHEQ management systems
Strong capabilities in risk assessment, incident investigation and root cause analysis Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
Experience within manufacturing, heavy industry, engineering workshops, mining equipment, industrial production, or similar operational environments will be highly regarded.
