is partnered with a
leading manufacturing business
to appoint a
Senior People Risk and Controls Manager
on a 12-month contract, based in Sydney.
This is an exciting opportunity to help design and implement a People Risk and Controls framework in a business undergoing significant transformation and investing heavily in strengthening its governance, culture, and people risk capabilities.
This is not a role where you'll inherit a mature framework. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to shape and embed a best-practice approach to identifying, assessing and managing people-related risks across the organisation. The role requires someone who enjoys building capability, influencing stakeholders and driving meaningful change in a complex manufacturing setting.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Develop and implement an enterprise-wide People Risk Management and Controls Framework, covering key areas such as conduct risk, culture, workforce governance, employee lifecycle risks, remuneration, wellbeing and regulatory compliance.
Partner with HR, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit and business leaders to identify, assess and mitigate people-related risks.
Build trusted relationships with senior management to provide practical advice and embed a strong risk culture across the organisation.
Design and implement people risk reporting, governance processes and control monitoring to support informed decision-making.
Collaborate with Corporate Governance and People teams to build a high-performing governance function with lasting organisational impact.
Support the development of policies, standards and training that strengthen people risk awareness and accountability.
Your profile:
Significant experience in People Risk, Operational Risk, HR Risk, Internal Audit or Risk Management within a large, complex organisation, ideally within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing People Risk or Governance frameworks.
Strong understanding of people-related risks, including conduct, culture, workforce governance, employment obligations and organisational change.
Proven ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders across HR and the broader business.
Experience coaching and mentoring team members while driving capability uplift.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
Relevant qualifications in Risk Management, Human Resources, Governance, Audit or a related discipline are advantageous.
