Why This Role
This is not a traditional Supervisor or Client Manager role where you inherit a fixed portfolio, sit under several Partners and mainly review compliance work. This role fits an ambitious accountant seeking growth and diversity in their work.
This is an opportunity to help build a new Adelaide office for a growing national tax and business services firm with an established portfolio.
You will have genuine client ownership, direct Partner support and a explicit pathway toward Client Director as the South Australian business continues to grow.
The firm already has established offices across Sydney and Melbourne, an existing South Australian client base, and a Partner leading the region. They are now looking for the right person to be a key part of Adelaide's growth story.
The firm has central operational support, a client experience team, offshore support, dedicated marketing and a sales function to help generate and convert new work.
About Our Client
Our client is a growing national accounting and business services firm with established offices in Sydney and Melbourne and an expanding presence in South Australia.
The firm works primarily with small business owners, private clients and growing businesses, with a typical client base in the $5m to $10m revenue range. Larger clients exceed $50m.
The business has a structured growth model built around client pods, giving each senior team member the support of accountants, juniors, cadets,



offshore staff and central client experience support as the portfolio grows.
This is a strong environment for someone who wants more ownership, more progression and more involvement in building something than a standard public practice role usually offers.
The Role
As Supervisor/Client Manager, you will take ownership of your own client ledger and help establish the firm's Adelaide presence.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing a portfolio of business services and tax clients
Building strong relationships with small business owners
Reviewing financial statements, tax returns and compliance work
Providing tax advice across FBT, Division 7A, GST and CGT concessions
Advising clients on budgeting, planning and practical business matters
Working closely with the South Australian Partner and broader leadership team
Using central support across client experience, marketing, sales and administration
Leveraging onshore & offshore support
This role will require some adaptability while the Adelaide office becomes established, but you will have access to national systems, training, operational support and senior leaders across the firm.

Strong Australian public practice experience in business services and tax




Readiness to step into broader client ownership and leadership responsibility
Strong technical capability across tax, compliance and advisory work
Confidence managing client relationships
Experience advising small business owners
Strong communication skills and a people-focused approach
Tech-savvy approach and comfort with cloud-based systems
This role will suit an ambitious Senior Accountant ready to step up, or an existing Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Manager looking for a clearer pathway into client leadership.
