ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Accountant, the Assistant Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Finance team with the day-to-day accounting operations.
Key duties:
Data entry for supplier accounts in Xero
Weekly creditor batch payments via Xero
Reconcile bank, EFTPOS transactions
Entering into Xero MBA credit cards (Co-ordinating receipts and tax invoices from cardholders)
Prepare monthly Ageing Report (AR) and follow up outstanding debtors
Process returned payments in MBAWA bank account.
Creation of credit notes via Xero when required




Assist with Fixed Asset Management
Assisting the Accountant with monthly financial management reports
Setup and maintain product codes between CRM and Xero
Setup of instalment plan arrangements for members/clients in Bpoint
Process payroll for Group Training Organisation (GTO)
Prepare tax reports for GTO
Process quarterly MyLeave lodgement for GTO
Assist with annual audit
Other tasks as assigned by the Accountant
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (desirable)
2-3 years' experience in a similar position
Experience in Xero, and MS office applications
Experience in BAS, payroll tax, superannuation
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
High level analytical, organisational and planning skills
Excellent written, verbal communications and the ability to follow instructions
Willingness to learn and support different areas of the finance team
Demonstrate ability to operate under pressure situations while achieving outcomes
A self-motivator, who achieves results autonomously or via teamwork
A team player
