Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Bitumen Sprayer Operator role based in Bendigo, VIC.
The Bitumen Sprayer Operator is responsible for operating bitumen spray trucks and related equipment to apply bitumen to road surfaces in line with project specifications and safety standards.
Day-to-day tasks include preparing and loading bitumen, setting and monitoring spray rates, checking equipment before use, and assisting with site setup and traffic management where required.
The role involves coordinating with site supervisors and crew members, completing basic documentation such as logbooks and job sheets, and performing routine maintenance and cleaning of the sprayer and associated equipment.




The operator is expected to follow all safety and environmental procedures, work flexibly to meet project schedules, and contribute to a positive and cooperative site culture.
Qualifications
Relevant experience operating bitumen spray trucks or similar road construction equipment, with a strong focus on safe and efficient operation.
Current driver's licence suitable for operating heavy vehicles (e.g., HR or higher), with a good driving record.
Knowledge of road construction processes, bitumen application techniques, and basic mechanical aptitude for equipment checks and minor troubleshooting.
Understanding of work health and safety practices, including PPE use, hazard identification, and adherence to site safety procedures.
Ability to follow job instructions and technical specifications, complete paperwork accurately, and communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions, travel to different sites, and work flexible hours as required by project demands.
Construction industry white card (or equivalent) and any relevant traffic management or plant operation certifications are highly regarded.
Robust teamwork and reliability, with a commitment to quality, punctuality, and maintaining a professional attitude on site.
