What makes family office work different
The relationships are long-term: You're advising families over time, not parachuting in for one‐off issues.
The work requires strong professional judgement: Technical expertise matters, alongside commercial thinking and an understanding of people and family dynamics.
The structures are complex and interconnected: Trusts, companies, investments, and operating businesses all working together.
The impact is real: Your work influences business continuity, wealth preservation, and generational outcomes.
This is where tax advice moves beyond rules and calculations, and into trusted advisory.
You'll work at the centre of large, sophisticated family groups, advising across:
Private group and trust tax compliance,
where understanding the broader family and commercial context matters
Family‐owned business structures, including operating entities, holding companies and investment vehicles
Intergenerational wealth planning, succession strategies, and transitions between generations
Trust distribution planning, balancing technical outcomes with family and commercial realities
Significant transactions, including business sales, acquisitions, and restructures
ATO interactions and governance, supporting families as their groups grow in scale and scrutiny
What you'll do:
Assisting clients with complex tax compliance issues
Designing and implementing structures that align with our clients' commercial objectives
Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office, including representing clients during ATO engagements and managing their tax reporting obligations
Providing advice on the purchase of new investments or business assets
Supporting families in transferring wealth between generations, including through estate planning
Helping clients contribute to causes significant to them through private charities and philanthropic giving that support environmental, social, and charitable agendas
What we're looking for:
Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in tax compliance and reporting
Making a profound impact through strategic tax planning
Fostering strong relationships with colleagues and clients
Safeguarding wealth and aligning financial activities with our clients' long‐term objectives
