About the role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for aSenior Manager – Supply Chain Excellence to join our Global Supply team.
Reporting to the VP, Global Supply, this role will lead the design, governance and continuous improvement of Orica's enterprise-wide supply chain standards, processes, assurance frameworks and operating models.
This role can be based at one of our office locations in Australia or North America.
In this role, you will play a key part in enabling consistent, safe, efficient and customer-focused performance across our global operations.
You will work closely with senior leaders, regional teams and cross-functional partners to strengthen supply chain governance, simplify processes, improve performance, and support the delivery of strategic supply chain priorities.
This is a highly visible role where you will influence global supply chain outcomes, drive standardisation and continuous improvement, and help build the capability and operating discipline needed to support Orica's future performance.
What you will be doing
Lead the development and refresh of Orica's global Supply Chain Excellence strategy, maturity roadmap and annual improvement program.
Define and maintain the global supply chain operating model, including governance forums, roles, RACI and process ownership.
Identify and prioritise improvement opportunities across planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, customer service and trade compliance.
Lead the Procurement Centre of Excellence, including opportunities to improve global procurement processes and deliver consistent reporting of procurement savings.
Governance, Standards & Policy
Own and govern the portfolio of supply chain policies, standards, procedures and best-practice frameworks.
Drive global standardisation while allowing for appropriate regional and business unit localisation.
Chair or support cross-functional governance forums to strengthen alignment, accountability and process ownership across the end-to-end value chain.
Process Improvement & Transformation
Lead process redesign, simplification and optimisation initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies.
Drive harmonisation and standardisation across regions, with a focus on streamlining supply chain processes and tools, particularly across GBS.
Manage broader supply chain strategic initiatives, including the Distribution Expert Panel, carrier audit checkpoint program, functional skills and competency development, modern slavery supplier risk analysis and Scope 3 emissions automation.
Assurance, Compliance & Performance
Oversee the global supply chain assurance program and support risk management across areas including Modern Slavery, Scope 3 emissions, dangerous goods transport and supplier risk.
Monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes, providing clear insights and recommendations to support compliance and decision-making.
Define and maintain the global KPI architecture, providing performance insights, trend analysis and benchmarking to support continuous improvement.
Capability, Stakeholder Engagement & Change
Build and maintain competency frameworks and training pathways to strengthen supply chain capability across the organisation.
Coach and support process owners and regional improvement leads to embed consistent ways of working.
Influence senior stakeholders across functions and lead structured change management activities to support adoption and sustainable outcomes
What you will bring
Experience leading operational excellence, transformation or continuous improvement programs, ideally within complex supply chain environments.
Strong understanding of governance, operating models, policy, standards and process ownership.
Demonstrated capability in KPI framework design, data analysis, performance insights and reporting.
Experience using Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Experience in global or multi-region supply chain organisations will be highly regarded.
Exposure to GBS operating models, transport safety, dangerous goods compliance, SAP, planning systems or Power BI would be advantageous.
A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity, drive standardisation and build capability across teams.
