UGL's Fuels & Energy East business is seeking a
Senior Civil/Structural Designer
to support the delivery of brownfield projects, maintenance works and engineering improvements across critical fuel and energy infrastructure assets.
Working within our Engineering team, you'll provide high-quality civil and structural design and drafting services, collaborating with engineers, project managers and asset teams to deliver safe, compliant and fit‐for‐purpose outcomes.
This is a
casual opportunity (2–3 days per week initially)
with flexibility and potential to expand based on project demand.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver civil and structural design and drafting services for maintenance and project works
Produce and coordinate 2D and 3D design models and construction drawings
Develop layouts and drawings in accordance with relevant standards and drafting procedures
Participate in model reviews, design reviews and milestone workshops
Conduct design checks and provide guidance to junior designers and drafters
Support site investigations, brownfield modifications and as‐built updates
Monitor progress against project schedules and identify potential risks or delays
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, project and asset teams to achieve project outcomes
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, project close‐outs and lessons learned activities
About You
10+ years' design and drafting experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, resources or related industries
Strong civil and structural design capability in brownfield and operational environments
Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D design platforms such as Civil 3D, Advance Steel and/or CADWorx
Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams on major industrial projects
Sound knowledge of relevant Australian and international design codes and standards
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a fast‐paced project environment
Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting or a related discipline
