The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Program Cost Controller? Join our Confluence team in Chatswood on a 6 month contract. This key role supports the delivery of a major infrastructure program within a Joint Venture (JV), overseeing cost governance, forecasting, reporting, and financial performance across multiple projects. Working closely with project teams, commercial and finance leaders, JV partners, and Sydney Water Cost Controllers, you will provide commercial insights, drive process improvements, and ensure best‐practice cost management.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage project/program cost baselines, budgets, and contingencies.
Monitor actual costs, commitments, cash flow, and cost performance against budgets.
Prepare forecasts, Estimate to Complete (ETC), and Estimate at Completion (EAC), identifying cost risks and opportunities.
Produce weekly/monthly cost reports, dashboards, and financial insights, including TOP, actuals, forecasts, variances, cash flow, and contingency utilisation.
Assess cost impacts of scope changes, manage variations, and maintain change registers.
Support cost risk analysis, mitigation strategies, and cost‐saving initiatives.
Monitor contract expenditure, payment claims, purchase orders,



subcontractor costs, and support procurement activities.
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and support funding and capital planning.
Ensure compliance with governance, reporting standards, and audit requirements.
Build robust relationships with project managers, commercial, finance, planning, contracts, program controls, and analytics teams to support informed decision‐making and successful project delivery.
About You
You are an experienced Cost Controller or Project Controls professional with strong financial management expertise in infrastructure or capital projects. You are analytical, commercially focused, and able to communicate financial insights effectively to diverse stakeholders.
You Will Bring
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis using PivotTables, Power Query, or similar tools.
Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and reporting capabilities.
The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, practical insights.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A continuous improvement mindset focused on enhancing systems and processes.
Desirable
Experience in major infrastructure or capital projects.
Knowledge of, or experience in, finance, accounting, project controls, cost engineering, quantity surveying, or estimating. A degree in Civil Engineering would be an advantage.
Experience with Joint Venture or alliance delivery models.
Proficiency with project controls and ERP/reporting systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Power BI.
