Lecturer in Economics (Education Focused)
Full‐time, 12‐month fixed‐term position located at the Camperdown Campus.
Base salary Level B $132,533 p.a. + 17% superannuation.
About the opportunity
We invite applications from outstanding candidates for a full‐time, fixed‐term Lecturer in Economics (Education Focused) position.
Successful candidates are expected to allocate 70% of their time to teaching, 20% to research, and 10% to governance, leadership, and engagement.
Key responsibilities
Deliver high‐quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in economics and related disciplines, using contemporary and evidence‐based teaching practices.
Contribute to the design, development, review, and continuous improvement of economics curriculum, learning materials, and assessment activities.
Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and pastoral support to students, fostering an inclusive and engaging learning workplace.
Coordinate and manage units of study, including assessment design, moderation, marking, and feedback processes.
Support students in developing analytical, quantitative, critical thinking, and problem‐solving skills relevant to economics and public policy.
Qualifications
PhD in Economics or a closely related discipline, with expertise in applied economics, econometrics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, public economics, international economics,
or related fields.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning in higher education, including experience teaching economics subjects across a range of delivery modes and student cohorts.
Experience designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum, assessment, and innovative teaching practices that enhance student learning, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate units of study and contribute to curriculum renewal and quality assurance initiatives.
