Why Apply?
This is a unique opportunity to join an established manufacturer investing heavily in its Australian operations. Rather than stepping into projects already in execution, you'll become involved from the earliest stages—developing concepts, layouts and engineering designs that will shape the future of the site.
Working within a collaborative engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to influence major capital projects while partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance and Process Engineering to deliver practical, fit‐for‐purpose solutions.
This is a 12‐month contract with strong potential for extension or permanency.
Location: South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for the mechanical engineering and design elements of a range of capital projects focused on manufacturing improvements and factory reconfiguration.
This role is heavily weighted towards engineering design. You'll be expected to develop concepts into detailed engineering solutions, prepare technical documentation and support projects through design, procurement and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop factory layouts, equipment layouts and 3D models.

Produce and review engineering drawings, P&IDs; and mechanical design documentation.
Prepare equipment specifications and technical documentation to support capital projects.
Support development of business cases and engineering solutions for future investment.
Work closely with Process Engineering to translate process requirements into practical mechanical designs.
Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and external vendors throughout project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer.
Proven track record using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD—essential.
Experience designing factory layouts, manufacturing equipment, production lines.
Ability to develop engineering concepts into practical, buildable solutions.
Experience preparing engineering documentation, URS / equipment specifications and technical drawings.
Experience within GMP, food, pharmaceutical, life sciences or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Robust communication skills and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
