Haines Christo is partnering with ACEN Australia to appoint a Senior Manager / Director, Social Participation & Communication.
ACEN Australia is one of the country's most active renewables owner-operators, with a growing portfolio spanning development, construction and operations across multiple states.
Locations: Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart or Melbourne.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, this role leads the Social Participation and Communications function and a team of four regional specialists across NSW and Tasmania. You will shape community engagement strategy across the full project lifecycle, manage social risk at a senior level, and work directly with project leads and departmental heads to integrate social considerations into business decision-making.
Responsibilities include:
Leading and developing the SP&C; team across strategic and operational priorities
Developing and delivering the SP&C; strategy and identifying key tactical priorities
Managing community engagement issues to mitigate social risk and protect ACEN's reputation
Governing and administering the Social Investment Program
Leading the community complaints process in line with governance and reporting requirements
Contributing to ESG, government and project-specific social impact reporting
Stewarding regional brand implementation across traditional media, social media and community events




Leading media relations and external corporate communications activities
Overseeing internal communications and employee engagement
Supporting project teams on the implementation of social commitments
The right person will have:
Experience leading a high-performing team in a complex, high-profile workplace
A track record planning and delivering community engagement and communications strategy
Frontline community relations experience with a hands-on approach to stakeholder management
Demonstrated experience delivering social sustainability strategies and community partnership programs
Strong project management, data analysis and engagement skills
Tertiary qualification in social sustainability, community engagement, communications or similar
