SASE Network Engineer
to join our high-performing Security Operations team, helping protect clients through cutting-edge Cloudflare technologies.
The
SASE Network Engineer
is responsible for deploying, designing and delivering implementation for the projects and assisting with the client setups including but not limited to fine tuning for a range of clients from various industry verticals and will be a proficient Security Engineer with expert knowledge of Cloud platforms, SSE landscape, systems and/or networks and architectural frameworks and approaches.

What you will be doing
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on Cloudflare services (WAF, CDN, Zero Trust, DDoS, etc.).
The Senior Engineer is involved in consulting with clients and gathering requirements, performing research into holistic integrated solutions and the creation of design documents and other project deliverable artefacts.
Design and lead implementations, including success criteria definition, test planning, execution support, and outcome articulation.
Configure and manage Cloudflare services such as:
Web Application Firewall (WAF)
DDoS protection
Bot Management
Zero Trust (Access, Gateway, Tunnel)
CDN and caching rules
Optimize traffic routing using Load Balancing and Argo Smart Routing.
Develop custom WAF rules and managed rule tuning.
Ensure alignment with organizational security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO *****, NIST).
Collaborate with internal teams and work closely with our vendor partner to resolve issues and enhance security outcomes.
Monitor traffic using:
Cloudflare analytics
Logs (via SIEM tools like Sentinel, Splunk)
Investigate security events, including:
DDoS attacks
Layer 7 attacks
Bot abuse or credential stuffing
Respond to incidents by:
Updating rules
Blocking malicious traffic
Coordinating with Cloudflare support if needed
Automate Cloudflare configurations using:
Terraform
Cloudflare API and scripts
Implement CI/CD pipelines for security rule deployment.
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to operational best practices.
What you bring
Robust understanding of:
HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS
Web security (OWASP Top 10)
Experience with Cloudflare platform tools.
Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash).
Knowledge of IAM and Zero Trust architectures.
5+ years' experience in a SOC/GSOC or security operations setting.
Deep expertise (or strong exposure) to modern edge security platforms.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS,
Azure or GCP) and modern infrastructure.
Exposure to or strong interest in modern edge security platforms.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‐solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and external partners.
Experience, Qualifications & Skills
Cloudflare One training and certification progression is expected as part of the role.
Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, GCP Engineer).
Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCSP).
Networking certifications (CCNP/CCIE).
Experience implementing solution designs to recognised frameworks such as ISO ***** and NIST CSF.
