Generator Service Technician
to work throughout the Gold Fields working directly for us.
As
Generator Service Technician
you will be responsible for the field servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and breakdown support of the company's fleet of diesel generators at one of our gold mining clients site. Operating within the power generation industry, this hands‐on role combines strong mechanical and electrical expertise with experience in ComAp controller programming and support.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled servicing and inspections of diesel generators across the company's fleet on multiple gold mines in the Kalgoorlie region
Perform fault-finding and repair of mechanical and electrical systems on power generation units.
Maintain detailed service records, fault logs, and condition reports.
ComAp Controller Programming & Support
Program and configure ComAp generator control systems.
Assist with synchronisation, load sharing, and commissioning of power generation systems.
Diagnose and resolve issues with control panels and automation logic.
Electrical & Mechanical Repairs
Including switchboard work, generator wiring, engine diagnostics, and fuel system maintenance.
Interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to carry out accurate repairs and upgrades.
Ensure repairs and installations meet Australian standards and client specifications.
Key Skills & Competencies
Proven experience in diesel generator maintenance and servicing
Proficiency in ComAp programming,
fault finding, and control system commissioning.
Strong diagnostic skills across both mechanical and electrical systems
Ability to work autonomously in field environments with a problem‐solving mindset.
Clear communication and documentation skills.
Experience & Qualifications
Trade qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic (Australian recognised) is preferred but if you're an LV Mechanic with experience working on diesel generators please also apply
Strong mechanical and electrical expertise in mining
Minimum 1 year of hands‐on experience in diesel generator servicing and breakdown response.
ComAp training or practical controller experience is essential
White Card and current manual driver's licence
High‐risk licences (e.g. Working at Heights, EWP) are advantageous
Australian working rights
National Police Clearance
Manual Drivers Licence
