Project Manager, Switchboard Manufacturing Sydney, NSW | Up to $150,000 + super | Full-time, on-site
A well-established Australian switchboard manufacturer is looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of switchboard manufacturing projects from order intake through to delivery. About the business
Our client is a well-regarded Australian electrical manufacturer with a strong national reputation, delivering complex LV switchboards, MCCs, switchrooms and custom power distribution systems to clients across infrastructure, commercial and resources sectors. Everything is handled in-house from engineering design through to fabrication, assembly and factory testing. The business is growing and has strong financial backing, with a healthy pipeline of project work.
The role
This is not a coordination or oversight role. You will own the full project lifecycle after handover from estimating, managing everything from design engineers and drafting teams through to shop floor coordination, procurement, client management and delivery. You will typically carry multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from smaller repetitive work through to larger, more complex packages.
Day to day responsibilities
Reviewing contracts, specifications and client requirements at project handover from estimating
Developing project schedules and managing delivery milestones in collaboration with engineering and operations
Handing over to and managing the design team through the detailed engineering phase




Reviewing and approving engineering deliverables prior to client submission
Managing procurement of equipment and materials to ensure best price and timely delivery to the factory floor
Coordinating workshop handover and monitoring projects as they move through manufacturing
Submitting RFIs, EOTs, NODs and variations in line with contract requirements
Managing project budgets and cost forecasts
Coordinating FAT scheduling and supporting QA and testing processes
Reporting on project status to management
Maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
What we are looking for
Experience as a Project Manager, Project Engineer or Project Coordinator in a switchboard manufacturing or closely related OEM electrical environment
Solid technical understanding of LV switchboards, MCCs and power distribution systems
Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‐paced manufacturing setting
Some exposure to contract administration such as RFIs, EOTs and variations
Commercially aware with an understanding of budget and cost tracking
Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills
Familiarity with AS/NZS ***** and relevant Australian standards
