Senior Commercial HVACR Mechanic | Van + Fuel Card | Adelaide North
An established commercial refrigeration and air conditioning business is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial HVACR Mechanic for a permanent full-time role based in Adelaides northern suburbs.
This role suits a senior technician who enjoys varied commercial work across refrigeration, air conditioning, exhaust systems, ice machines and general service maintenance.
You will join a team of technicians and apprentices, with the chance to use your experience, support younger tradespeople and work across a good mix of jobs rather than being stuck doing the same type of work every day.
The Role
You will service, repair, install and maintain commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems across Adelaide and South Australia.
The business works across commercial refrigeration, air conditioning, two-door fridges, exhaust fans, ice machines and maintenance work. Some technicians lean more toward air conditioning, some toward refrigeration, and some do both.The company aims to match work to each technicians strengths where possible.
You will be provided with a Toyota HiAce van, fuel card, tablet and phone.
The package is negotiable depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Service, repair, install and maintain commercial refrigeration systems.
Work on upright units, cool rooms, freezer rooms, two-door fridges and larger commercial refrigeration equipment.Service and maintain commercial air conditioning systems.
Diagnose faults involving refrigeration, electrical operation, refrigerant levels,



drainage and system performance.
Service commercial exhaust systems, including fans and ductwork.
Service and maintain commercial ice machines.
Carry out planned maintenance, breakdown work and installation support.Order parts, manage job documentation and keep service records accurate.
Communicate professionally with clients and explain work completed or further service needs.
Work with apprentices or junior technicians when paired on jobs.
What Makes This Role Different?
This is a senior hands-on field role with variety and flexibility.You will not be limited to one narrow type of work. The role covers refrigeration, air conditioning, exhaust fans, ice machines, maintenance and service work.
The business has a practical approach to scheduling. Depending on where you live and the days work, you may start near home, come to the workshop to pick up an apprentice, or head to the first job from a suitable location.
On-call is reasonable, generally around once every 7 to 8 weeks.
Allowances apply, including on-call, productivity, travel, living away from home and accommodation where relevant.

What You Need to Succeed
Trade qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning.
Current ARCtick licence.Strong commercial refrigeration and/or commercial air conditioning experience.
Positive fault-finding and breakdown skills.
Ability to work independently across client sites.
Ability to work with apprentices or junior technicians when required.
Good communication skills and professional presentation.
Current drivers licence.
Australian permanent residency or equivalent work rights.
Readiness to complete required pre-employment compliance testing.
