Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Anaesthetics Consultants to join the Division of Surgery for a fixed term period.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:




The Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Northern Health is seeking an anaesthetic consultant interested in joining our vibrant and busy team in supporting our culturally rich and diverse northern community at Northern Hospital, Epping and Broadmeadows Hospital.
Northern Health provides anaesthetic services across a broad range of specialties including major general surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, vascular surgery, orthopaedics, thoracic surgery, urology, ENT, endoscopy, interventional radiology, cardiology, electroconvulsive therapy and acute pain services.
The successful applicant will contribute to the provision of high-quality anaesthetic, perioperative medical and pain services at Northern Health, consistent with Northern Health's values.
This consultant will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members - including allied health clinicians, nursing and medical staff - to deliver high-quality services.
The role is based at both Northern Health's Epping campus and Broadmeadows campus.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Be registered with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Hold an undergraduate medical qualification (essential) - MBBS or equivalent




Hold an appropriate specialty qualifications such as a Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) or equivalent (essential)
Be eligible for registration for a Medicare provider number
