Position Overview
Macquarie University Health is Australia's first fully integrated academic health sciences centre, bringing together a university hospital, clinics and a faculty of medicine, health and human sciences. This role offers the opportunity for a qualified sonographer to work in a university‐linked, research‐driven workplace, using state‐of‐the‐art GE and Canon imaging systems and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
Perform high‐quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations across a broad range of specialties, including general, obstetric, vascular and musculoskeletal imaging.
Assist with inpatient and outpatient interventional procedures.
Collaborate closely with radiologists, specialists, referring clinicians and technical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Maintain the highest standards of patient care, safety and professionalism at all times.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical education activities where appropriate.
Participate in a rotating on‐call roster and Saturday shifts.
Work flexibly between two sites: Macquarie University Hospital and the Macquarie Shopping Centre clinic.




Qualifications & Selection Criteria
Current ASAR registration (trainee sonographers are not eligible).
Demonstrated clinical experience across general, obstetric, vascular and/or musculoskeletal ultrasound modalities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to engage effectively with patients, colleagues and referring clinicians.
Commitment to patient‐centred care, safety and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to participate in a rotating on‐call roster and Saturday shifts.
Willingness and ability to work across the two sites mentioned above.
