The Opportunity
CPP continues to secure some of Australia's largest renewable energy and utility infrastructure projects, creating an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Engineer – Protection
to join our growing engineering team.
In this role, you'll provide specialist protection engineering expertise across the design, and delivery of complex high-voltage transmission and renewable energy projects. Working alongside experienced engineers, designers, commissioners and project teams, you'll develop protection philosophies, relay settings, fault studies and protection schemes that support the safe and reliable operation of substations and renewable energy infrastructure.
Your expertise will extend beyond design. You'll provide technical support during commissioning and energisation activities, assist with outage switching programs,



troubleshoot protection systems, and work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges. With exposure to nationally significant renewable energy and utility projects, you'll have the opportunity to see your designs progress from concept through to commissioning.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in protection engineering within transmission and distribution substations, utilities or renewable energy projects.
Experience developing protection philosophies, relay settings, fault calculations and protection studies.
Practical knowledge of protection relay technologies, including Siemens, ABB, GE and SEL.
Experience using power system analysis software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
A sound understanding of Australian utility standards and protection design practices.
Experience supporting commissioning, energisation activities and troubleshooting protection systems.
