Key Responsibilities
SAP System Administration
Perform installation, configuration, and routine maintenance of SAP systems across DEV, QA, and PROD landscapes
Proficient in administering Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems
In‐depth knowledge of SAP Netweaver, SAP BTP, SAP CPI, Cloud Connector, IAS/IPS, and Fiori
Support SAP components commonly used in utilities: IS‐U, CRM, PM, EAM, FICA, and related modules
Conduct daily system health checks, monitor logs, dumps, and performance indicators
Transport & Change Management
Manage transport requests through the SAP Transport Management System (TMS)
Ensure adherence to change control processes aligned with utility regulatory requirements
Coordinate with functional and development teams to support release cycles
Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor system performance across SAP, OS, and database layers
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, manage and resolve complex issues
Assist with workload analysis during billing cycles, meter data processing, and peak operational periods
User, Role & Security Support
Maintain SAP user accounts, roles, and authorizations
Support audit activities and ensure compliance with industry standards
Troubleshoot authorization issues and collaborate with security teams on remediation




Database & Backup Operations
Support and have solid understanding of SAP HANA and traditional databases like Oracle, and Sybase
Perform system and client copies, backups, restores, and refreshes
Monitor database growth and assist with capacity planning
Upgrades, Patching & Maintenance
Assist with SAP support package stacks, kernel updates
Expertise in SAP installations, EHP Upgrade & Unicode conversions, System Migrations, configuration, and troubleshooting
Apply SAP Notes and participate in system patching activities
Support senior engineers during major upgrades and migration projects (e.g., S/4HANA, cloud transitions)
Integration & Interface Support
Troubleshoot issues involving IDocs, RFCs, Web Services, PI/PO, and third‐party integrations
Support interfaces between SAP IS‐U and AMI, GIS, CIS, and other utility systems
Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
Work closely with functional teams, developers, and infrastructure groups
Provide L2/L3 support for SAP technical incidents
Required Qualifications
6‐8 years of SAP BASIS administration experience
Experience supporting SAP systems in the Utilities industry (IS‐U experience strongly preferred)
Strong hands‐on experience with SAP ERP/ISU & SAP JAVA Portal
Working knowledge of SAP HANA and/or traditional databases
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and basic networking concepts
Understanding of ITIL processes and regulated change management
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to work in high‐availability, mission‐critical environments
Soft Skills
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to balance developer enablement with security and compliance
Detail‐oriented with a strong operational mindset
