About the role
We are looking for a passionate and experience Alcohol and Other Drug Counsellor Case Manager to deliver evidence based AOD therapeutic interventions to individuals engaged in problematic substance use and present with co‐morbid mental health concerns. Neami National and Lives Lived Well have an associate partnership that sees this AOD position co‐located on site at the Townsville Medicare Mental Health Centre. This is a full‐time position until 30 June ****. Salary for this position is between $100,785 and $105,346 plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging benefits.
You will provide high quality engagement, assessment counselling and support services to your clients using you experience in evidence-based practice principles for withdrawal, support and recovery.
Responsibilities include:
Working with clients to develop, implement and review individual treatment goals
Ensuring continuity of care by effectively communicating within the multidisciplinary team and across interfaces with other health care providers
Providing pre- and post-rehabilitation support and relapse prevention planning
Providing culturally appropriate practice as relevant to varying clients
Ensuring that client records, data collection and reporting are consistent with confidentiality and relevant practice standards
What you will bring to the role
Tertiary qualifications in social work, counselling, psychology, mental health, or related discipline
Demonstrated knowledge in family/AOD counselling practicecomplimented withcontemporary evidence-based counselling practice, case management, intake, and assessment
Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload
Highly developed communication and community engagement skills
Knowledge of the local region is highly desirable
You will be required to hold a current unrestricted Australian Driver's License and Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
