Youth Justice Teacher | Western Sydney
Full‐time, Temporary 12‐month contract with view to become ongoing
Commencing immediately or Term 3 start
Small class sizes (3‐6 students with an SLSO)

School Profile:
School House is working in partnership with a Government Department of Youth Justice. The Youth Justice Centre is committed to equity of educational chance for all – "A Chance to Learn". It caters to boys aged ***** years, who are part of a remand facility. They present diverse backgrounds and experiences, with some having some form of mental health, disability and/or behavioural disorder. There is a high turnover of students, with most staying less than 3 weeks, and a portion remaining for over 12 months.

Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor of Education) etc.
Current NESA Accreditation and WWCC (or eligibility to gain)
Ability to register with the Department of Education (which can be fast tracked upon offer)
Dynamic professionals who have the ability to build rapport, display resilience, and show compassion and empathy towards working with students in unique situations
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Motivation and a passion to work with and support young boys on their journey through secondary education
Enthusiasm and flexibility with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Ability and desire to actively support the values and ethos of the school
