Role Description
The SAP Finance Lead Solution Architect is a senior, client‐facing role responsible for defining, shaping, and leading SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions for Australian Federal Government clients. The role has a strong focus on presales leadership, S/4HANA Finance transformation strategy, and trusted advisory engagement with senior public sector stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead end‐to‐end project delivery across banking, finance, ERP, and enterprise application transformation initiatives, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business outcomes are achieved.
Manage project planning, timelines, resource allocation, dependencies, delivery milestones, risks, issues, and governance reporting across complex workstreams.
Coordinate with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and offshore delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood, prioritised, tracked, tested, and implemented effectively.
Facilitate requirement workshops, one‐on‐one discussions, focus meetings, document analysis, prototyping, and stakeholder alignment sessions to support solution delivery.
Drive risk and issue management by identifying delivery challenges early, escalating appropriately, and implementing practical mitigation plans.
Provide regular status updates, delivery dashboards, project documentation, budget updates, and executive‐level reporting to internal and client stakeholders.
Support quality assurance, testing coordination, defect triage, change implementation,



and process improvement activities to ensure robust delivery outcomes.
Build trusted relationships with customers, vendors, business users, and technology teams through clear communication, proactive follow‐up, and customer‐focused delivery.
Technical Expertise & Federal SAP Requirements
Strong experience in IT project management within banking, finance, accounts receivable, billing, collections, ERP, or enterprise application environments.
Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile delivery practices, project governance, change management, and quality assurance processes.
Exposure to banking transformation programmes and enterprise platforms, including Oracle Banking Platform or similar core banking/ERP applications.
Experience working with ERP and business systems such as Oracle, Banking Platforms, ERP, MYOB, BAAN, Enact ERP, Navision, or similar platforms.
Hands‐on experience using project and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, HP Quality Center, and Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, analysis, and delivery governance.
Ability to manage financial, billing, reconciliation, invoice processing, reporting, and customer service processes in high‐volume operational environments.
Essential
13+ years of professional experience across IT project management, banking and finance operations,



ERP/application delivery, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and customer‐facing delivery environments.
Proven experience leading cross‐functional teams and coordinating delivery across business, technology, vendor, onshore and offshore stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage project plans, schedules, resources, risks, issues, budgets, governance forums, and senior stakeholder communications.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, problem‐solving, documentation, and customer service skills.
Experience in requirement elicitation, process improvement, change coordination, testing support, defect management, and delivery governance.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent business qualification desirable.
