As the business continues to grow and evolve its payroll platform to meet changing legislative requirements and client needs, an exciting newly created opportunity has become available for a Payroll Product Owner / Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping the future.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Payroll / Bookkeeping professional who is interested in growing their career into the world of Product Ownership. As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering product enhancements across payroll, accounting and back-office capabilities.
This role would suit someone with a strong understanding of payroll compliance and processes, bookkeeping principles, and end to end payroll operations, who enjoys problem solving and process improvement. Previous Product Owner experience is not essential, we're looking for the right business expertise and the ability to translate operational requirements into product outcomes.
What You will Be Doing




Own and prioritise the payroll compliance product roadmap and backlog.
Monitor and interpret changes to Australian payroll legislation and ATO compliance requirements.
Drive compliance initiatives across Single Touch Payroll (STP), SuperStream, Payday Super and related reporting obligations.
Translate legislative and business requirements into clear user stories and product enhancements.
Perform testing and quality assurance for new product releases.
Develop knowledge articles, documentation and training materials to keep internal teams informed and empowered.
The ideal candidate
Must have experience in Bookkeeping, payroll compliance or accounting.
Must have strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and ATO compliance.
Nice to have- hands-on experience with STP, SuperStream, Payday Super and payroll reporting requirements.
