$ 103,761 to $ 116,177 per annum (HEO7) + 17% super

About the role
The Business Systems Specialist – coordinates and manages the design, configuration, documentation and maintenance of UNE's core business systems. The incumbent works collaboratively with the business owners of each system to continuously improve processes in response to the changing needs of the University's operational, library, research, and service management requirements. This position supports the reliable operation of UNE's core business systems that are critical to institutional operations, library services, compliance and research capability. Priorities include supporting planned system upgrades and enhancements implementing system efficiency improvements and developing deeper business area knowledge and stakeholder relationships. The current focus of this role will be to support library and research systems and stakeholders. This role reports to the Manager of Business Systems Support and supports the reliable operation of systems critical to university operations. The business systems support area is part of the Business Services department that also includes Payroll and finance systems, Student administration and customer relationship management systems, placement and curriculum management systems.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience supporting and configuring complex enterprise business systems,



with strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
Confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels, producing clear documentation, and delivering reliable, high-quality outcomes.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities with ease, and a genuine interest in continuous improvement and emerging technologies including AI.
A relevant IT qualification or equivalent experience is essential, with experience in a higher education environment particularly library, research, finance, or student systems — highly regarded.
