Overview
A market-leading national engineering business with sites across Australia is looking to recruit a skilled Finance Data Specialist on a permanent basis. The role is responsible for the management of reporting dashboards, ensuring the integrity and quality of the data.
Responsibilities
Data Integration & Architecture: Manage the integration of financial software and legacy platforms during mergers, system upgrades, or migrations.
ETL of financial data: Oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading of financial data from various operational systems into a centralised reporting framework.
Data reconciliation: Design automated controls and interfaces to ensure data flows are reconciled across systems.
Financial Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to minimise operational and reporting risks.
Ensure financial reporting meets local statutory requirements, taxation laws (e.g., BAS, FBT), and applicable accounting standards.




Data Governance & Security: Implement data governance frameworks to ensure financial metrics, data security, and privacy controls are robust and automated.
Chart of Accounts management and data-mapping: Enforce rules to ensure consistent definition and categorisation of financial data across business units.
Regularly review metrics and data patterns to detect discrepancies, integrity issues, or fraud risks.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in a similar role
Experience in reporting systems, data warehousing, and business intelligence products
Stakeholder engagement
Demonstrated experience in the application of data management governance and principles
Experience with data analysis toolsets
Solid leadership and interpersonal skills
Advanced Excel skills (large data sets, pivot tables, complex formulas)
