Description
This is a strategic position,
responsible for overseeing a high‐performing team while driving key initiatives across compliance, transformation and continuous improvement.
Reporting into the Senior Manager - National Payroll, you will play a critical role in setting direction, leading change, and ensuring the payroll function operates with the highest levels of accuracy, governance and efficiency.
Provide leadership, coaching and development to the payroll team, building capability and engagement
Oversee the end‐to‐end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing
Champion a best‐practice compliance framework, ensuring adherence to legislation, awards and internal policies
Act as the escalation point for complex payroll matters and provide expert advisory support
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements and process optimisation
Lead and support payroll‐related projects, audits and transformation initiatives
Partner closely with People & Culture, Finance and key stakeholders to align payroll with broader business objectives
Contribute to change management across systems, processes and organisational initiatives
Profile
Demonstrated experience coaching and developing team members
Strong expertise in Australian payroll legislation, awards and EBAs
Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance
Experience delivering continuous improvement and transformation initiatives
A proactive approach to compliance, risk and governance
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
