Role Description
This Senior Claims & Delay Advisors is based in Melbourne, VIC and offered on a hybrid basis, combining office presence with some work from home. The role involves leading the assessment and management of construction claims and delay issues on large transport and public infrastructure projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing contracts and project documentation, preparing and evaluating claims, conducting delay and disruption analyses, and advising on risk, entitlement, and quantum. The advisor will collaborate with project teams, legal and commercial stakeholders, and government clients to develop strategies for claim resolution, negotiate outcomes, and support dispute avoidance.



The role also includes mentoring junior team members, contributing to internal knowledge development, and preparing high-quality written reports, briefings, and presentations.
Qualifications
Strong claims handling and claims management skills, with experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of insurance and insurance claims processes relevant to major infrastructure and transport projects.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear written reports and engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Background in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, law, or a related discipline; tertiary qualification preferred.
Demonstrated experience with delay analysis, project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), and contract administration on design and construct or similar delivery models.
Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast‐paced advisory environment.
Experience working with government or public sector clients on major infrastructure projects is advantageous.
