Skillset Senior College is seeking an exceptional educational leader to become our next Head of College.
Reporting directly to the School Board, this executive leadership position provides a rare opportunity to lead a purpose-driven independent school while working closely with governance, leadership and community stakeholders to shape the future direction of the College.
This is a whole-of-College leadership role with responsibility for educational excellence, strategic growth, organisational performance, financial stewardship, community engagement and student success across our Bathurst and Dubbo campuses.
As Head of College, you will have the opportunity to build on a strong culture and clear purpose while leading the next phase of growth, innovation and impact for a unique regional educational community.
About the Role
As Head of College, you will provide strategic, educational and operational leadership across the College. Working in partnership with the School Board, you will:
Lead implementation of the College's strategic direction and long-term vision.
Champion student-centred learning,
strengths-based practice and trauma-informed approaches.
Build a culture of high expectations, inclusion, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team and workforce.
Oversee financial sustainability, resource management and organisational performance.
Ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance and stakeholder confidence.
Build meaningful partnerships with students, families, community organisations, industry, tertiary providers and government stakeholders.
About You
You are an inspiring and values-driven school leader with the strategic capability, emotional intelligence and operational discipline to lead a complex school workplace. You bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications related to educational leadership.
Proven success in senior educational leadership roles.
Experience leading organisational strategy and delivering measurable outcomes.
Outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication and skills.
Demonstrated success driving positive change and continuous improvement.
Strong organisational, financial and operational management capability.
Experience working effectively with Boards or governance bodies.
The ability to build trusted relationships, empower high-performing teams and foster a positive culture.
Current Teacher Registration, valid Working with Children Check, and a current Class C Driver Licence.
Highly Regarded
Experience as a successful Principal, Head of School or equivalent executive school leader.
Previous success in promoting and growing a school community.
Experience in alternative education and student-centred learning approaches.
