Based in beautiful Rockhampton, you'll enjoy the benefits of coastal living and a robust community spirit.We are seeking a compassionate and motivated School Chaplain to join our Carinity Schools community.
In this role, you will provide social, emotional, and spiritual support to students, parents, and staff, fostering a caring Christian environment and supporting a quality education experience for disadvantaged youth.As a Chaplain, you will work within the Christian ethos of Carinity, developing meaningful relationships, providing pastoral care, and supporting students through social, emotional, and academic challenges.
You will also assist in school events, lunchtime groups, and Christian programs, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.Your Day-to-day Will InvolveProvide pastoral care and counselling to students, parents, and staff, including support for students facing family breakdown, abuse, neglect, or mental health challengesFacilitate Christian-based activities, such as prayer groups, Bible studies, and personal development programsCollaborate with teaching staff, Behaviour Support Workers, and external professionals to support student wellbeingParticipate in school assemblies, events, camps, excursions, and graduationsMaintain accurate records of student support and progress,
ensuring confidentialityBuild and maintain strong relationships with the wider school community, including parents, volunteers, local churches, and referral agenciesAbout YouYou are a committed Christian who is passionate about supporting youth and their families.
You bring empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with students, staff, and external professionals.
You are organised, adaptable, and proactive in fostering a safe, supportive, and values-driven school environment.Certificate IV in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care (or equivalent) with mandatory units in Mental Health, Making Appropriate Referrals, and Providing Pastoral Care or Working with YouthDemonstrated experience in school chaplaincy, pastoral care, counselling, or working with marginalised youthCurrent Blue Card and Driver's LicenceSkilled in Microsoft Office Suite and time management, conflict resolution, and collaborative decision-makingHighly developed interpersonal and communication skillsThe Benefits Of Joining The Carinity TeamWe're part of Carinity, a not-for-profit Christian organisation committed to creating communities where people are loved, accepted and supported to reach their full potential.
