This is an All-risk model of care and women in this caseload team may be of low or high medical/obstetric risk.
Caseload Midwives must value family centred care and work closely with their team, have good communication skills, and value teamwork to ultimately provide exceptional midwifery care.
A part time Magnolia midwife will care for up to 32 of women per year, as well as providing back-up and support for the other midwives within the caseload team.
Within Caseload Midwifery, care is provided in antenatal clinic, during labour and birth, postnatal care on the postnatal ward and at home, and this role would also include administrative tasks.




This position involves a large degree of autonomy and has periods of work that are scheduled and unscheduled and requires a commitment to being on-call to provide the best possible continuity of care.
In saying this the health and welfare of our midwives is vital and the on call roster will be built to ensure protection of your off call days.Your Duties Will IncludeManage assigned caseload of women in an on-call capacityRespect the dignity, culture, values and beliefs of women and significant others in the provision of culturally sensitive midwifery careWorking closely within a cohesive caseload group as part of Maternity Services teamWork closely with women, babies and families to meet their needs across the continuumComplete assessment of the health status of caseload women by interview and observationProvide evidence based careAssess, plan, develop, implement, document and evaluate midwifery and neonatal care in partnership with the women and other health care professionalsProvide health education for women, families, and other family supportsAbout YouTo be successful within this role you'll bring the following skills and experience:The ability to provide care across the continuum of midwifery care including routine antenatal visits, antenatal assessment and triage, intra-partum and postnatal careWell-developed interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation, advocacy and conflict resolution skillsDemonstrated understanding of the social determinants of healthDemonstrated commitment to the provision of midwifery case in a continuity of carer model, of which focuses on the woman and her familyHave experience in IVC insertion, applying Fetal Scalp Electrodes (FSE),
