This is a Mid-weight Wayfinding & Signage Designer role with Davenport-Campbell based in NSW, AURole Senioritymid levelMore about the Mid-weight Wayfinding & Signage Designer role at Davenport-CampbellDavenport Campbell, a multidisciplinary design studio specialising in workplace interior environments, is seeking a Mid-weight Wayfinding & Signage Designer to join our in-house team at our Sydney CBD office.About Davenport CampbellDavenport Campbell has developed a reputation for being a leader in innovative workplace design and the repositioning of commercial office buildings.Our focus is on building strong and lasting relationships rather than bouncing from one project to the next.We are seeking a talented Mid-weight Wayfinding & Signage Designer who wants to be challenged, grow with the studio, push design boundaries, value our client relationships, and has a passion to do great things and own projects.Employment TypeFull-time OR ContractAbout The RoleOver the past five years, we have been developing our environmental, signage and graphics capability to the point that we have now formed an in-house team to support our workplace designers, and to provide a stand alone service that we offer to the market.This role will primarily focus on the planning, strategy, and design and implementation of our Signage and Graphic projects.At the heart of what we do is a strong belief that creativity, passion,



and innovation are critical to the success of every project.Key ResponsibilitiesWork directly alongside Head of the GraphicsAttend job briefs with senior members of Interiors teamWork on Wayfinding and Signage projects across the whole project lifespan from briefing and concepts through to documentation and installationProduce Signage strategy documents including implementation of Signage hierarchies and ability to templatise Signage SystemsLiaise with clients, consultants and suppliers as necessaryCollaborate within a teamManage a range of scale projects across multiple sectorsProduce specification documentation for Signage and Graphic projects, this includes the use of SignAgent software for location planningManage workflow of all jobs assigned.
Alert the Head of Graphics and Project Lead of any changes in scope or deadlinesIdentify design issues that affect User and Signage functionality and offer graphic solutionsGraphic layout of signage and graphicsWork with senior team to produce tender and construction documentation of Signage projectsCompetencies And Experience Required3+ years industry experienceExperience on large-scale Signage projects including: Identification, Directional, Operational and Statutory SigntypesHigh-level design aestheticAdept at taking job briefs and notes during meetingAn architectural sensibility, skill, and experience desirableAbility to maintain a high-level production quality and output with every deadlineAbility to maintain quality control in print production, typography,



shop drawing review and proofreadingProduction knowledge when it comes to implementing Signage and Graphic design conceptsProduction knowledge for the creation of artwork files for productionStrong communication skills – articulate, friendly, confident, and collaborativeStrong problem-solving skills in approaching each design task within the broader context of all ongoing project deadlines, rather than treating projects in isolationAbility to work efficiently and manage time across multiple projects at onceAbility to handle urgent requests and client demands in a calm mannerWork under pressure with simultaneous deadlinesAble to understand Architectural plans, Australian Standards, NCC and BCA requirementsSolid knowledge of Adobe Creative SuiteExperience with SignAgent is idealExperience with 3D Software such as Blender is idealExperience with MS Excel is idealQualificationsDiploma, Degree or higher; or equivalent years' experience in Graphic Design, ArchitectureBefore we jump into the responsibilities of the role.
