The role

The Early Childhood Connector is a place-based role that supports children aged eight years and under with developmental delay and/or autism with low to moderate support needs, and their families, carers and kin, to access information, supports and services that promote positive developmental outcomes. To be embedded within existing child, family and community services across Tasmania, the Early Childhood Connector provides information, advice, navigation and pathway support to families, helping them understand available options and connect with appropriate services.

Thriving Kids

Tasmania has entered into a bilateral agreement with the Australian Government to implement Thriving Kids , a national system of foundational supports for children aged 8 and under with developmental delay or autism with low to moderate support needs and their families.
The program aims to identify developmental concerns earlier and connect children and families with timely and appropriate supports. Children with permanent and significant disability will continue to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), subject to usual NDIS arrangements.
Details of Appointment

Multiple fixed term, full-time ASAP for 3 years, working in either the North, South or North-West of Tasmania
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary

$102,027 to $106,985 per annum + 11% superannuation
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available

Salary range is in accordance with Band 5 of theHealth and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Awardand thePublic Sector Union Wages Agreement (PSUWA)

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Current Tasmanian Registration to work with Vulnerable Children
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
A diploma, advanced diploma, or equivalent qualification in social work, community development, community services or a related discipline
Current Drivers Licence
The Head of the State Service hasdetermined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‐employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
Conviction checks in the following areas:
Crimes of violence
sex related offences
reliable drug offences
crimes involving dishonesty

Identification check
Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
