The Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility with a focus on preparing individuals for release and successful reintegration back into society.
It offers various working industries with the men given the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will effectively link them to employment on release.
When not engaged in work, the men attend rehabilitative programs to address their offending behaviour, engage in education and visits whilst many also engage in recreation and community assistance programs.About The RoleThe Programs Supervisor oversees program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure that programs are meeting the needs of prisoners and the prison environment.
Stakeholder management and community engagement is a high priority for the Programs Supervisor to ensure positive relationships that enable high quality service delivery within the prison.Some Of Your Duties Will IncludeSupervise the planning, development,



implementation and evaluation of a range of programs and services to support and assist prisoners' personal development towards successful reintegration into society and a reduction in recidivism.Supervise and lead a team of Programs staff ensuring ongoing training, support and performance management is provided.Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable cohesive service delivery.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:Experience in staff management and supervisionDemonstrated skills and experience in welfare practice or related fieldsDemonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisonersKnowledge of the limitations imposed on program delivery within a correctional environmentExperience in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programsAbility to communicate sensitively and effectively with diverse cohorts, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesQualifications/requirementsA tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline is desirable.Demonstrated skills and experience in human services, welfare practice, education or related fields are highly regarded.The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) and misconduct screening.If you require adjustments to the recruitment and selection process, or require an alternative format to any of the application material, please don't hesitate to get in touch with the contact person listed on this ad.Important InformationCHILD SAFE STATEMENT OF COMMITMENTThe Department of Justice and Community Safety is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
