Employing a diverse workforce across operational, technical, trade, and corporate functions, our client is committed to fostering a strong safety culture and maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety.With ongoing investment in safety and compliance initiatives, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Safety Lead to join their collaborative and high-performing team.The OpportunityReporting to the Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the organisation's WHS framework across a broad range of operational environments.
This is a hands-on position that will see you partnering closely with leaders, employees, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and promote a proactive safety culture.You will be involved in both strategic and operational safety activities, making this a strong prospect for a safety professional who enjoys variety and stakeholder engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain WHS policies, procedures, and work instructionsConduct workplace inspections, audits,
and compliance reviewsCoordinate corrective actions and monitor safety improvement initiativesSupport incident investigations and contribute to root cause analysis activitiesMonitor legislative compliance and provide WHS guidance to operational teamsCollect, analyse, and report on safety data, trends, and performance metricsSupport contractor management and workplace consultation processesAssist with safety training, inductions, and awareness programsContribute to emergency management, first aid, and health monitoring programsAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:Diploma qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience within a similar positionStrong understanding of WHS legislation, systems, and risk management principlesExperience conducting workplace inspections, audits, and safety investigationsStrong reporting, administration, and documentation skillsAbility to work across multiple business units and operational environmentsHighly RegardedExperience within local government, utilities, infrastructure, construction or facilities managementKnowledge and exposure SIRA requirementsWhat's on OfferPermanent full-time positionLong-term career stability within a well-established organisationDiverse and engaging operational environmentCollaborative and supportive safety leadership teamStrong focus on professional development and continuous improvement
